"The Cape"

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 29 July 2014 in Landscape & Rural.

The gentle rain falls from time to time;
The breeze is cool, but the sun smiles down, as well,
It warms my skin as it it bounces In and out,
playing with the clouds,;

The sand sticks to my feet as I walk toward the wooden steps that take me down;
Not wanting me to ignore them, the strands of sea grass scratch my legs gently as they pass:

The sea lies calm today, but the colors change gently;
gray, blue, green, then back to gray, softly carrying the boats as they spend an afternoon of leisure, floating gently for a day:

I see all these things and more;
The flowers that bloom, the little fences in the sand,
All so much a part of Cape Cod;

I feel the soulful gentleness of this place now;
The spirit of Cape Cod enters ones heart, and stays there forever;

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:

Ronnie 2¢ from Atlantic Shores, United Kingdom

You reveal so much in the image with those words - a reminder that all these moments - wherever they are - are for living.

@Ronnie 2¢: Thank you very much, Ronnie. YOUR words are music for my heart, as well..they are so true. We truly enjoyed our visit. My sister and her kids and grandkids were all there as well, and my brother and his wife, all the way from California.... We had a wonderful time - family, nature's beauty, and reminiscences . :-)

Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom

A lovely view and from your words it appears you are relaxed and soaking it all in Denny, long may it continue!

@Doug: Thanks so much, Doug :-) Unfortunately I am back home now, this morning as I write this...It's back to work. But we did have a wonderful time, short though it was. Cape Cod is not an easy trip from a traffic standpoint. But a beautiful place, nonetheless. Thanks again my friend :-)
