The Approach of Late Autumn

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 29 October 2014 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Like a thief in the night, Late Autumn begins to quietly creep up on us.
Many trees become completely bare;
But we don't notice because there is still so much colour and beauty in every direction;
But then, one day, one moment, one second, we look around and realize;
"Wow!, The leaves are almost gine!" we say...
A strange combination of mild despair mixed with contentment inhabits our soul as we realize that the Autumn is approaching it's end.
Anyone who does not enjoy the colours of autumn is truly missing a gift from nature. The approach of late autumn has a beauty all it's own.

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
