Autumn Passing - "Magnificent Similarities!"

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 10 November 2014 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I think each of us has a favorite season, and, for each of us there are special reasons that apply to our favorite. ....When all the votes are in, I would dare say that Autumn is probably in the "Top Two" favorites. There is such a great variety of colors offered in the Fall.

Then, there are those scenes (such as this one I found about 3 weeks ago) that display a singular primary color with the challenge to the eye to find the slight variations of tone. This, I think, is the most extraordinary challenge that nature - in it's good will - presents to us: The challenge for us to see and enjoy the great variety of colors and textures, but also the challenge to discern, enjoy, and revel in, what I like to refer-to as, "Magnificent Similarities" that Autumn provides.

So enjoy your autumn, wherever you are - ours is almost through - but only in our eyes...Never in our minds.

Thanks for bearing with me as I pound out my dissertation <3 to all of you....dj

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.

"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
