Forest Dogwood

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 12 May 2015 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

This could be last week or thousands of years ago. The white-flowered Dogwood has this kind of Prehistoric connection that has always inspired and intrigued me. I hope you like this one.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire

Nicely composed. Lovely peaceful scene, I love the mesh of foliage and the lighter plant in the foreground. The way you have shot this really suits a black and white conversion.

@Tony: Hi Tony - Thank you SO very much, sir! Your work is phenomenal and I really appreciate your kind assessment here. My feelings about this image in color almost exactly seemed to match yours regarding your image shown today (Tuesday 12 May) . Once again, thank you so much. Wishing you all the best!

Great use of the surroundings in your composition to isolate the white flowers so well from the background!
