Winooski Mist

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 18 May 2015 in Landscape & Rural.

We made a quick trip to our daughter's house in Vermont last Friday to catch a little baseball and family fun.....Saturday evening, a much needed rain storm came through. The temperatures had grown to be fairly warm during the day so I sensed that some fun things might begin in the sky and the environment around the Winoosk River.. Thankfully, our daughter, Amy and her family live within walking distance of some really nice views of the river, some mountains and an old railroad bridge.
Just as the rain stopped I decided to get down to the river and i was glad I did. This is the first of perhaps 2 or 3 images I will show. I hope you like these of the mist forming over the river following the rainstorm. and some the the developments that occurred. Here the mist just begins to form.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
