A Genuine Vermont Sunrise

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 11 August 2015 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This photo was taken one October morning just before 6:00 AM in Essex Junction, Vermont standing on my daughter's back deck. Our Son-in-Law, Steve was already up getting ready for work and poked his head in our room and said "Denny, you've got to see this, bring your camera!" I instantly new what was up because Steve is a brilliant artist. So, there we stood in awe as we watched this red marvel of a sunrise bouncing off the clouds...I don't know exactly how sunrises like this happen but I can tell you all I had was my little Olympus E510 back in those days, and this is what came out of it and it is what we saw. I hope you enjoy :-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
