Impressions of Autumn

Posted by Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 28 October 2015 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Last weekend I had the good fortune of having the world's greatest "Spotter" walking with me through the New jersey woods at Round Valley, NJ. My Spotter's name is Barbara and she noticed this batch of leaves shining on a branch with early evening sunlight casting through the branches.

In editing this image I took some license by "deleting" (some call it "erasing") some of the smaller twig-like branches on the tree. But mainly the big "batch" of leaves were what is seen here! Colours, light, breeze...it was wonderful - and I owe it all to my Spotter, Barbara!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
