Dr Fog and His Trees

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 29 December 2015 in Plant & Nature.

I shot this scene 5 years ago in December at nearby Merrill Creek Reservoir. I owe so much to Ms julie Weller Finley - a magnificent local photographer and all around cool lady- for introducing me to this magical place.

This was December 11, 2010...the weather that year was rather similar to this year's weather - unusual warmth at times - but also cool nights...Fog and mist were common.

I call this image "Dr Fog..." because I have always considered fog and mist to be "here now - gone Later" elements - in the same sense as Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde. I hope you like this one :-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
