Snow Geese on Water

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 19 January 2016 in Animal & Insect.

Although this particular image is from my archives, the Snow Geese finally have arrived at nearby Merrill Creek Reservoir. I'm just not in good enough shape yet, (following surgery), to venture out to the reservoir. Here we see them "hanging out." One might even say they are "chilling!" :-)

The Snow Geese that winter come all the way from Labrador and other parts of Northern Canada. They arrived quite late this year. due to the relatively mild December and January weather that was present throughout Eastern Canada and Eastern parts of the US.

In a few days, I will show you what it looks like when blast off occurs.

PS - My thanks to everyone for your kind notes to me following surgery :-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
