Who Knows where the Time Goes

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 20 February 2016 in Abstract & Conceptual.

This image made me think of that beautiful song written by Sandy Denny
and also beautifully performed by Nina Simone, Judy Collins,and others.
Here are the words:

"Across the evening sky, all the birds are leaving
Oh but then you know, it was time for them to go
By the winter fire, I will still be dreaming
I do not count the time
for who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
Sad, deserted shore
your fickle friends are leaving
oh, but then you know it was time for them to go
But I will still be here
I have no thought of leaving
I do not count the time
for who knows where the time goes?
I know I'm not alone
while my love is near me
I know that its so until its time to go
All the storms in Winter and the birds in Spring again
I do not count the time
For who knows where the time goes?
who knows where the time goes?
who knows where the time goes?"

Below is a you tube link to Judy Collin's version of Sandy Denny's song...for some reason I had a terrible time trying to download Sandy's original so I gave up - but Judy's version is wonderful - I hope you enjoy it

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
