Following a False Prophet

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 5 March 2016 in Abstract & Conceptual.

When I was a child, I remember hearing my parents speak of a certain one;
One who claimed to be the salvation - the new leader;
He spoke of hatred to a certain religion;
he spoke of hatred towards certain races;
he spoke of hatred towards certain political beliefs;
He spoke of banning certain ones from entering his country;
And....his followers roared with approval!
"Get Them! - Kill Them! - Banish Them - the crowds screamed.

That was decades ago -
But the monster may be back?

And again, the followers scream and yell....
As they follow this false prophet...walking toward his torch of hatred!

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
