At Storm's End

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 21 July 2016 in Plant & Nature.

Monday night, we had a tremendous thunderstorm that deposited great amounts of much-needed water.
At the end of it all, the clouds parted slowly and gently, moving away just enough to allow the setting sun to make brief appearances.

I was out walking around in the neighborhood with my camera. I did not have the opportunity to find a more open place, so I did the best I could with what I was afforded. While out, I spent some time talking to a neighbor friend as she dried off her car (a brand new mustang) from the rain. We had an enjoyable chat with lots of laughs, but I could not help but constantly glance away at the sky. My friend, Joni, said with a smile "Denny, I think it's time for you to go take some pictures :-)

So I did.
This is what I got - I hope you like it :-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
