My Blue Heaven

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 16 August 2016 in Landscape & Rural.

This image is 10 years old and was taken with a little 6 Megapixel Fuji camera....
We are standing up on the White a Mountains (where the Ancient Bristlecone Pines are) and we are looking down into the Owens Valley.

Across the valley, down and up the other side, is the Eastern Slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Mt Whitney is up there somewhere.
But this old shot has always been one of my favorites, not so much for the quality (which is not great at all :-) - but because of the feeling that I get when I look at it. I hope you like this :-)

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire
