Batter's Meditation!

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 18 August 2016 in Sport & Recreation.

The Batter stands alone - embodying a moment that we all have:

In those moments before "the pitch;"
He thinks about the last time....whether it was good or bad;
If it was bad, he prays for a better outcome;
If it was good.....He prays for a "better better" outcome!

The rest of the world is shut away....
As the batter swings and visualizes....prays and dreams;

Aren't we all a little bit like the batter?
We swing at every "pitch".... hoping for a home run.
If we strike out we are depressed and mad.
If we get a "hit" we feel cocky and proud.

The Batter is our soul and our prayer.
and our ego as well....he joins in our Moment of Meditation ...we pray must be good.

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."

He stand out out well against the ominous looking clouds. You can just about see his mind ticking over, practising his swings and visualising the next play. Great work Dennis!
