"Alternative" Photo

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 24 January 2017 in Plant & Nature.

I was finally able to get out and enjoy some new areas this morning. It was short because I was waiting for my wife and her sister while they participated in a separate morning walk.

I strolled along a slough and I was really enjoying the water and the cool air. But in that limited time, I did see this spot. I was very intrigued by it. It was surrounded by shrubs which made it difficult to approach too closely, so I decided I would later edit the image in post-process. The direction that the stream was taking and the light reflecting off of the wet branches and shrubs really made me decide to go ahead and see what I could do with this mage.

I hope you can enjoy this "not-so-perfect" image. I have titled it in the spirit of a brand new phrase that has recently been coined by the counselor to our new President - the phrase is "Alternative Fact."....I have NO IDEA what an "Alternative Fact" is....I always thought if something is a "Fact" - there is no alternative to that! .......Oh Well!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:

"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
