Reconnection - to Maintain and Resist

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 28 January 2017 in Landscape & Rural.

Springtime is not here yet....but we know it is coming;
The trees tell us - the sky tells us - the air tells us;
We try to walk through the trees and up the path with an effort
to refresh our mind, soul, and heart.
We try to enjoy the beauty which is real, because we love it;

But in our mind, we realize that hatred has won the office...

So we use the trees for reinforcement;
We use the sky for fortitude;
We use the air for strength;
As we work to Resist the fire from the Minister of Hatred!

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

@Martine Libouton: Thank you Martine!! I absolutely Loved your image for today (Saturday) ;-)

franz from Baden, Austria

Your words are like a prayer in these troubled times, Denny!
The image, on the other hand, is like a wonderful photo painting. My compliments!

@franz: Thank you sir....These are the things that I write to try and maintain my sanity (or perhaps "insanity") and I do it to divulge the feelings in my heart. I share it all with friends on AM3 because most of them have a heart,,,,My Love to you and Happy Monthly Birthday to that beautiful Emilia! ;-)

omid from mashhad, Iran

@omid: Thank you very much, Sir ;-) - I Like your "selfie" today ;-)

Darkelf Photography from Perth, Australia

First I want to say that this is a wonderful image - love the detail, tonality and composition. The road leads perfectly into the scene. Secondly, keep strong out there Dennis! Thirdly, I cannot believe it, but this scene is almost a mirror image of a photo that I took in the Blue Mountains in Australia back in May last year. The road, the little bridge and the poplars are as if someone took them out of one place and moved to a different spot in another season. Amazing!

@Darkelf Photography: Hi Maciek! Thank you SO much for your wonderful comment and, Oh My Goodness, YES - your image from May is like the parent of this one - How amazing ;-) As for my tiring rants: I do get carried away - So Thank you. I will try to insert a bit more positivity into my narratives. I certainly don't want to irritate the audience. Can't wait to see your next image post! I greatly appreciate your kindness - cheers to you both! ;-).

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

A very gorgeous image with those lovely trees. As to your words, I agree completely as you know. I honestly never thought we would have a leader so disrespectful and unappreciative of the sacrifices we both made. Maybe, it's because he never sacrificed anything for the country and never will.

29 Jan 2017 3:12am

@Steve Rice: Precisely! It is amazing to me how quickly things can - and have - changed...I'm not surprised, just amazed.... This place, this image that I shot on Friday morning, allowed me to leave the worries for a while - I needed it...I had been obsessing so much on what lies ahead - the unknown- Thank you for your kind words and I welcome you home, sir, just as you and I both welcome each other and others out there....I guess we gotta just keep on fighting in our own way...Thanks Steve...<3

@L'Angevine: Thank you so much, L'Angevine ;-)

k@ from Paris, France

I do agree, trees are our real kings and we should be much more respectful of Mother Nature who knows better than some totally mad so-called authorities what is good or bad for human beings. Let's resist for sure just keeping being who we are in fraternity with all the others. Love***

@k@: Thank you dear friend. I sometimes wonder if we have done something wrong to make the world such a troubled place....I think the answer is "yes" but it is not all of us, it is some souls who have decided to be hateful and the hatred is breaking out of a box like an exploding volcano...Resist We Must! My love and Best wishes to you dear Karine ;-)

Devi from Chennai, India
