The Sammamish River - Spring is Trying to Show Up

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 17 February 2017 in Landscape & Rural.

We are very fortunate to live nearby a huge park and a long trail (23 miles altogether in length) that follows this river all the way from the northern end of Lake Sammamish (Which we can walk to from our house) and the trail continues all the way to the Northern ind of Lake Washington . This is a portion of the river that flows through Redmond and Woodinville Washington. I could go on forever describing this locale, so, instead, I will break it up into "snippets" here and there, along with various photos as we go.
I captured this shot on Thursday morning 16 Feb 2017. This view is looking down river which, in this case, is actually flowing North ;-) I hope you like it.

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"

Wonderful scene Dennis. I love the line of trees in the distance and their reflection. By the way, nothing wrong with you posting more "political" stuff - good to see you present your opinion and views through good and imaginative use of photography.
