"My Shining Hour" - Dedicated to All Graduates

Posted by Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 16 June 2017 in Plant & Nature.

As we lie in the darkness, we imagine all sorts of things:
We hope for the Best and we Pray not to see the Worst;
Our Heart breaks for those who are hurt, and it sings for those who succeed;
But ALL are in our hearts;

To anyone who graduates this year - from any kind of school -
this post is dedicated to you.

Following is an excerpt from the song "My Shining Hour" by Harold Arlen:

"This Moment, This Minute
and each second in it
will leave a glow upon the sky
And as time goes by, it will never die,
This Will Be my Shining Hour,
Calm and Happy and Bright...."

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.
- Nature is not a place to visit, It is home."
- Gary Snyder.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues. The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"
; Earth Wind and Fire

LONNIE LISTON SMITH:
