In Search of Peace and Freedom

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 19 June 2018 in Landscape & Rural.

It used to be that here was the place that everyone came to for stability and freedom. Liberty for people of all walks of life.

We have that huge Statue in New York Harbor that was given to us by France....the statue stands as a beacon - a symbol to welcome anyone who comes here..to escape from being punished for being simply a human being in search of a future for themselves and their family.

Now, those who seek peace and Freedom must hide in the woods or behind a wall, or in a hut, or in a truck somewhere...dreaming of being free to build their life....

The only true vision they can get is one through the trees as they look into the sky....It seems to be the only reminder they have that peace and Freedom are still somewhere out there...Or Are They out there at all anymore?!

Why does it have to be so difficult for those who want this freedom?

It certainly doesn't seem difficult for haters to hate.....Why is it difficult for humans to love one another?

** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"

- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.

::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"

I don't know if you read what I wrote on the last two photos I posted. We lost Nikon 9 days to a blood disease with no cure. It was sudden and shocking.
