True undying Friendship

Posted by
Denny Jump (Bellevue, WA, United States) on 2 October 2018 in People & Portrait.

This past Saturday, I had the distinct honor of attending (and taking some photos of) a Retirement Party that was thrown for for my sister-in-law, Patty (Patty is wearing the striped shirt, Second from the left). She had worked in the Hospital field for nearly 40 years! Some of her closest and dearest friends and associates came to the house to celebrate her retirement with her!
Now, I have met all of these wonderful ladies before... But, what really strikes me about them is the continuing, unblemished, undying friendship, love and respect that they all share with each other...without pause- without diminishment! ...Yes, after all of these years, they still laugh and hug and cry and tell stories and worry about each other!

Perhaps it's because they work in the medical field (my Barbara also worked in hospitals and doctor’s offices for 40 years also)!
Regardless of what it is, all I know is that these women have established a bond that is as strong now as it ever was...

So, this is why I am posting this image today and for the next few days...
Undying Friendship.....Something this world could use a lot more of!

We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)

- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at

A wonderful post all around, Denny, and I believe you are right to surmise that people in the health care field have that extra boost of empathy, compassion, and a keen instinct about what is truly important in our day to day lives. They see, all too closely, the harsh truths of mortality.
