An Old Song by Sandy Denny in 1967 - "Who Knows Where the Time Goes" - comes to my mind every year on this date. My favorite arrangement of this Sandy Denny composition was done by the magnificent Nina Simone on her album "Black and Gold!"....and .Scenes like this always bring that song into my thoughts.
I made this image from 3 miles east, back across Lake Washington and looking towards some of the building in Seattle at sunset....The foreboding and dark nature of this scene just seemed to fit how I feel about things right now....but I try to keep a smile on my face because I have loved ones and friends who are in my heart and always on my mind.... I Love You All... Pray for Peace.
** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"
- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)
- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.
::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"; Earth Wind and Fire
