The music world lost a brilliant Master when Pianist McCoy Tyner “Crossed Over” to Heaven on Friday 6 march 2020.
As the dynamic Pianist alongside John Coltrane (Saxophones), Elvin Jones (Drums) and Reggie Workman, (Bass)
McCoyTyner provided stratospheric inspiration and accompaniment to the other members of the John Coltrane Quartet! This led to a strikingly magnificent continuation of his career in the decades following "Trane’s" passing!
Truly, They all were Masters in their own right and I personally spent many hours listening to their Music and sharing it on my Jazz Radio shows that I hosted on KERS-FM in Sacramento.... (KERS-FM was the student operated Radio Station for California State University, Sacramento in the 70's, 80's and (I Believe) early 90's
The music of that era was dynamic and so very innovative....McCoy Tyner was truly a leader in that category and his music has remained with us from that time and onward!
McCoy Tyner......May he Rest in Heaven..in eternal peace.
** Staples Singers - "Respect Yourself"
- " We do not move forward from a middle opinion, which is undemocratic but mediocratic.
We advance from a creative passion "- (Edgar Morin)
- "To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at
that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
- Henri Cartier-Bresson.
::Words from Denny:
- My beliefs, and values, have always been strongly tied-to music, especially Jazz, and Blues.
- The following artists and lyrics seem to "sum-up" where my spirit resides:
EARTH WIND AND FIRE;
"HOLD ON TO YOUR SPIRIT,
ALWAYS FEEL YOUR SOUL....
HONOR THE MAGIC IN YOUR HEART"; Earth Wind and Fire
